  Water Safety Operations Minimize

Description

The Water Safety Operation Bureau promotes prevention and safety awareness to all persons who frequent our beaches and provides in-services training for staff and public entities.  The Water Safety Operation's primary concerns is to educate tourists and local residents of dangers that could occur while visiting beach locations.

Objectives

  1. To decrease drowning and water related injuries through an aggressive and innovative Water Safety.
  2. To promote Kauai's guarded beaches as safe visitor destination and safe recreational areas for residents.
  3. To work in collaboration with hotels, non-profit entities and schools to promote "prevention" awareness in water safety through the Junior Lifeguard and Ocean Safety Awareness programs.
  4. To provide first aid and rescue services for the general public.
