Recycle Household Batteries at Kaua'i Resource Center Līhu'e
The County of Kaua'i offering a year round household battery recycling collection program

Batteries are separated into the categories described below. Please place batteries in the appropriate barrel. Barrels are labeled and also have pictures. Terminals of batteries 9 volts and higher must be taped prior to recycling. Please place "duck or electrical tape" on battery terminals. Tape provided at Kaua'i Resource Center. Thank you for your cooperation.
Alkaline (Dry Cell): Non-rechargeable common batteries such as those used for household devices including A, AA, AAA, AAAA, C, D, DD, and 9 volt batteries. 9 volt batteries or higher please place duck tape on terminals prior to recycling.
Lithium: Common uses are cameras, calculators, watches, computers and cell phones.
NiCad: Typically rechargeable and many different types. Common uses are from cameras, rechargeable appliances, (portable power tools) and hand held vacuums.
Batteries accepted at the Kaua'i Resource Center in Līhu'e located at 3460 Ahukini Rd. (near the airport and front the Līhu'e Transfer Station). Battery collection Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm; closed on all holidays and weekends. The collection barrels are located inside the main building. Program is for residents only, businesses are prohibited. Car batteries and UPS batteries are NOT accepted.
