Male visitor drowns while snorkeling off ‘Anini Beach

‘ANINI – Kaua‘i police report that a male visitor apparently drowned while snorkeling in waters off ‘Anini Beach Thursday afternoon.

Online registration for Summer Enrichment Program begins on May 13
LĪHU‘E -- County officials announced that online registration for the Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) will begin on Friday, May 13, 8 a.m., on the county website, www.kauai.gov/SummerPrograms.

Puhi Road rehabilitation project to begin May 10
PUHI – The first phase of the Puhi Road rehabilitation project spanning from Kaumuali’i Highway to Kaneka Street will begin on Tuesday, May 10. The project is expected to be completed early next year weather permitting. Work hours will be Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Vendor applications accepted for Sunshine Markets
LĪHU‘E – County officials are now accepting applications for qualified full-time vendors in its Sunshine Market program. The administrative rules with details on eligibility can be accessed on the county website at http://www.kauai.gov/SunshineMarkets.

Police arrest two wanted men in separate incidents, drugs seized

LĪHU'E  – Police arrested two wanted men in separate incidents on Kaua‘i this week. Officers seized cocaine, methamphetamine and other drugs in one of the arrests.
