  Road to Recycling Minimize

ROAD TO RECYCLING TOUR

FREE Tour Series

Sign up for an exciting bus tour to glimpse a behind-the-scenes look at recycling and waste processing on the garden island. Learn how the local government, schools, and businesses are working together to create model recycling programs.

 

Tour is free and for residents only. Spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Register by phone at 241-5120. Tours will be accommodated with a private bus. Lunch not provided. Anticipate about $10-$15 for lunch, or you can brown-bag it. Please arrive 15 minutes before scheduled time. Bus will leave on time. Tour scheduled times are approximate and subject to change. Covered shoes are required. Cell phones need to be on vibrate.

Kauaʻi's one-stop recycling center for HI5 beverage containers, cardboard, mixed paper, #1 & #2 plastics, glass, dry-cell, NiCad & lithium batteries, and used athletic shoes. Līhuʻe Transfer Station.

Reduce: by using photovoltaic panels to produce clean energy and renting hybrids
Reuse: Usable mattresses, art, furniture, dishes, etc. are sold in fundraisers for local charities.
