CDBG preparation workshops scheduled Oct. 12 and Oct. 14

LĪHU‘E – In preparation for the next application cycle for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, the Kaua‘i County Housing Agency will be conducting workshops for those that are new to the program and are interested in learning more about it. The “New to CDBG” workshops will be held on Monday, Oct. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Līhu‘e Civic Center, Pi‘ikoi Building conference room.

Portion of Waipouli Road closed to thru traffic Oct. 13-16

KAPA‘A – The public is advised that a portion of Waipouli Road, approximately ¼-mile from the Hauiki Road junction in Kapa‘a, will be closed to thru traffic next week to allow for the replacement of a drain culvert under the roadway.

Convention Hall to close Oct. 19-22 for major electrical work

LĪHU'E – The Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall (KWMCH) will be closed from Oct. 19 to Oct. 22 for major electrical work.

A section of Eiwa Street to close Oct. 6 for repaving

LĪHU'E – The public is advised that a section of Eiwa Street adjacent to the Hardy Street intersection will be closed on Oct. 6 for repaving. Work hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. While the work is underway, The Kaua‘i Bus will be rerouted through the Līhu‘e Civic Center (LCC) parking lot. The pick-up/drop-off point on Eiwa Street will be at the parking lot side of the current location.

Two men apprehended at Kauai High School for unlawfully carrying firearm
LĪHU'E  – Two male subjects were taken into police custody Wednesday afternoon after a rifle was found  in their vehicle while parked at Kauai High School. The men are not affiliated with the school.
