Transient Vacation Rental Application

Owners of single-family transient vacation rentals must register their TVRs or apply for a Non-Conforming Use Certificate. Applications for single family TVR’s must be submitted with As Built Plans (Plot Plan, Floor Plan, Section and Elevation) signed and stamped by an architect or engineer licensed in the state of Hawaii, accurately reflecting the property as it is today and showing registration and contact sign location.

Go to press releases section 8/6/2008 - Hollywood pro to conduct film seminar - KAPA‘A – A Hollywood professional will be flying to Kaua‘i to conduct a seminar that’s designed to help anyone thinking of getting into the film industry or those who have been in the film industry for a while and would like to advance their career. It will be held on Sunday, Aug. 16, 9 am to 5 pm, at the ResortQuest Kaua‘i Beach at Makaiwa. The cost to attend the seminar is $50. Enrollment is limited to 100 participants with a free “Tropic Thunder” poster offered to the first 50 people who sign up. Called “What They Don’t Teach You in Film School”, the seminar will be presented by Eve Honthaner, a staff production executive with DreamWorks Studios whose film credits include: Tropic Thunder; Titanic; Joy Ride; and Just Married.
 

Go to press releases section 8/4/2008 - Senior softball tournament kicks off tomorrow - HANAPĒPĒ – Teams from across the state will be converging on Hanapēpē Stadium tomorrow for the 33rd annual Hawai‘i State Senior Softball Tournament. The three-day tournament will run tomorrow, 8:30 am to 5 pm, Wednesday, 9 am to 4:30 pm, and Thursday, 9 am to 2 pm, with the championship games scheduled last, 12:45 to 2 pm. “The county is pleased to host this special event that will bring people from all over the state to Kaua‘i,” said Parks and Recreation Director Bernard Carvalho. “Our staff has been working hard to prepare for this. They had to re-design the stadium to accommodate six playing fields for all the games that will be played simultaneously.” A total of 46 teams will be participating in the tournament, including: 19 from the Big Island, seven from Kaua‘i, 12 O‘ahu teams and eight Maui teams.
 

Go to press releases section 8/1/2008 - Shark sighting at Hanalei Bay - HANALEI – Kaua‘i Ocean Safety Bureau officials announced that Hanalei Bay is closed until further notice due to a shark sighting in the area. Lifeguards spotted an eight- to 10-ft. shark this morning and have posted signs to alert beachgoers. Hanalei Bay will be reopened when it is deemed safe for the public to re-enter the water. Those wanting to spend time in the ocean today are urged to go to other guarded beaches around the island.
 

Go to press releases section 8/1/2008 - Free orientation classes offered to first-time homebuyers - LĪHU‘E – Kaua‘i residents looking to purchase their first homes are invited to sign up for free homebuyer orientation classes. The classes are held monthly, 6 to 7 pm, at the Līhu‘e Civic Center, Pi’ikoi conference room. The only exception is the Aug. 4 session, which will run from 5 to 7 pm. The upcoming schedule is as follows: Aug. 4, 8 and 29; Sept. 5 and 19; and Oct. 3 and 17. Participants will be given an introduction to financial literacy, home ownership, assessment of homebuyer readiness and a description of the home-buying process.
