The investigation was led by KPD Detective Darin Irimata. Nakamoto has been in custody at the Kauai Community Correctional Center since March 10, 2023 in lieu of bail.

Prosecuting Attorney Like stated, “Protecting minors is a top priority for our Office. We know that our island is safer when individuals that prey on the vulnerability of children are incarcerated.”
