Emergency water service shutdown in Kapa'a on March 25

KAPA’A – The Department of Water (DOW) announces an emergency water service shutdown from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today, March 25, 2024, on a portion of Kuamo’o Road; from Opaeka’a Road to Pa’ako Street, and includes Lihau Street, Kuhoho Street, Aleo Street, Pa’ako Street, Hie Street, Iliki Street, Molo Street and Alahele Street. DOW crews will be conducting emergency repairs to a recent mainline break along Kuamo’o Road. 

Additionally, a partial single lane closure is being implemented on Kuamo’o Road to provide a safe work zone for repairs. Flagger personnel will assist with traffic flow. 

Customers located in the affected service area are advised to prepare for the water service shutdown by taking the following steps: 

• Storing water to meet your needs until water service can be safely restored. 

• Notify neighbors, family and friends about the water service shutdown. 

• Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heater does not empty during the shutdown.
