LĪHU‘E – Due to improving trends, all regular County of Kaua'i facilities and services are operational today, March 14.
Public Works Roads Division crews continue to clear various drains, culverts, roadways, and County infrastructure.
Residents and visitors are urged to remain vigilant and monitor weather conditions, local media, and official government channels.
Road Closures (NEW UPDATE)
- All County roadways are open.
- Pe‘e Road at its intersection with Poʻipū Road is open through Monday. The roadway had previously been closed due to construction.
Weather Forecast (NEW UPDATE)
The Flood Watch has been canceled for the island of Kaua‘i. A High Wind Warning remains in effect through 6 a.m. March 15.

- Turn off & unplug all unnecessary appliances or equipment.
- Keep a portable battery-powered radio & flashlights with extra batteries.
- Stay away from downed lines & report to 9-1-1.

Safety Advisory
The Department of Health Clean Water Branch has issued a Brown Water Advisory for the island of Kaua‘i. The Hawai‘i State Department of Health advises beach users to stay out of waters when the water appears brown or murky, especially following storms or heavy rain.
The public is advised to check conditions before venturing out for hiking, river, or beach excursions. River and stream crossings, recreational trails, and other outdoor recreation areas may quickly become hazardous.
During severe weather, emergency rescues may not be possible. Do not cross swollen rivers or streams; always check with a lifeguard at any lifeguard station before entering the ocean. Know before you go.
