Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters are responding to a brush fire in Kōloa. The fire was reported at 2:15 p.m., and is estimated to be 100 feet by 50 feet.
No injuries or damaged structures have been reported at this time.
Firefighters have the fire under control but heavy smoke continues as it is a deep seated green waste pile on fire.
Response
According to a preliminary report, crews are currently working to extinguish the brush fire.
Assets
Crews with the Kōloa and Kalaheo fire stations, Tender 5, Tender 3, the on-duty Battalion Chief, and crews with the Department of Public Works are responding to this incident.
The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency is monitoring the incident.
