The Kauaʻi Bus to run reduced, fare-free service starting Sept. 10

LĪHUʻE – The Kauaʻi Bus will provide reduced daily service starting Thursday, Sept. 10, until further notice, as the County continues its response to Hurricane Lowell.

No fare is required for fixed route or paratransit service during this time.

Routes have been modified to include stops at food distribution sites and refuge areas. Buses will run every two hours.

Route times:

• Route 200 (Līhuʻe to Kekaha): 6:25 a.m. to 4:25 p.m.
• Route 100 (Kekaha to Līhuʻe): 8:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
• Route 500 (Līhuʻe to Hanalei): 6:25 a.m. to 4:25 p.m.
• Route 400 (Hanalei to Līhuʻe): 8:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
• Route 30 (Kōloa Shuttle): 6:05 a.m. to 7:05 p.m.
• Route 60 (Kapahi Shuttle): 6:23 a.m. to 7:23 p.m.
• Route 70 (Līhuʻe Shuttle): 5:55 a.m. to 6:55 p.m.
• Route 800 (Wailua Homesteads to Līhuʻe): Regular schedule, 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
• Route 850: Regular schedule, 12:45 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.

Until electricity and office phone service are restored, all paratransit requests must be submitted by email to thekauaibus@kauai.gov. The latest time for paratransit trip reservations is 7:30 p.m.
