HANALEI AND ʻANINI – Department of Water (DOW) customers in the Hanalei Community and ʻAnini Beach areas remain under a water conservation request.  A mechanical failure on the water system’s pump station occurred back on April 4, 2025, which impacted the system’s water storage supply.  DOW officials are meticulously working to secure the necessary equipment and contractor services to conduct the emergency work.

Customers are advised to continue limiting water use to essential needs only to avoid a full water service outage.  Water conservation measures include turning off appliances and fixtures that automatically draw water such as ice machines and irrigation systems and refraining from car washing.

Weekly notices will continue to be provided via the Wireless Emergency Notification System (WENS), the County’s emergency notification system. To sign up, visit www.kauai.gov/KEMA and click “Notification Services.” Monitor service updates online at www.kauaiwater.org

For more information, please contact the Department of Water at 808-245-5455.
