LĪHU‘E — The County of Kaua‘i, in partnership with Child & Family Service and local community organizations, invites the public to the “Recovery Through Connections and Community” fair on Friday, Sept. 12, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Historic County Building Lawn.

“Recovery isn’t something anyone has to go through alone. It’s about community, connection, and knowing that help is out there,” said Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami. “Events like this remind us that there’s hope and support for those who need it, and that Kaua‘i takes care of its people. I encourage everyone to come out, learn more, and enjoy time together.”

The event aims to connect individuals and families with local support and recovery resources, raise awareness, and promote community healing. Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with local organizations providing treatment, support, and recovery services;
  • Learn how to access help for themselves or loved ones;
  • Enjoy free, family-friendly activities such as rock painting, gratitude journaling, and meaningful bonding experiences; and
  • Explore fire trucks and emergency vehicles on display during the event.

No-cost activities will be available for all ages.
