DMV and Real Property offices to close June 17 for training

LĪHU‘E – The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the Real Property Assessment & Collections Section will be closed on Tuesday, June 17, to accommodate staff training. Normal business hours will resume on Wednesday, June 18.

The Kapa‘a Satellite DMV is open to appointment-holding customers only. Its hours of operation are Monday through Friday, except for state and federally observed holidays, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Acceptable transactions include motor vehicle transactions, utility payments, bus passes, and tipping coupons. Currently, there are no driver’s license transactions at the Kapa‘a Satellite DMV.

The Līhu‘e DMV accepts appointment holders and walk-ins; appointments are highly recommended. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, except for state and federally observed holidays, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kūpuna Hour is from 8 to 8:45 a.m., with appointment holders and walk-ins to follow. Walk-ins are accepted until 2 p.m. All motor vehicles, driver's licenses, and other acceptable transactions are accepted at the Līhu‘e DMV.

Appointment holders may check in for a scheduled appointment up to 15 minutes before their appointment time and no later than 5 minutes after their appointment.

During the closure of the Real Property Assessment & Collections Section, Real Property exemption applications may be deposited in the drop box located outside the Kapule Building at the Līhu‘e Civic Center.

Payments can be made online at https://kauairpt.ehawaii.gov/propertytax/kauai/welcome.html, by mail, or at the drop box located outside the Kapule Building at the Līhu‘e Civic Center. Please make checks payable to the Director of Finance.
