KAPAʻA (Wailua Homesteads) – The Department of Water (DOW) will conduct a test shutdown on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The affected area will include the upper portion of Kuamoo Road, extending north from Paako Street to Reservoir Dam Road, including all branching roads.

The test shutdown will involve operating the booster pump in low-frequency mode to supply water pressure to affected customers while a water tank is isolated for repair.

During the test shutdown, customers in the affected area may experience intermittent water outages, or fluctuations in water pressure, based on water supply demand. Customers in the vicinity of Reservoir Dam Road are most likely to experience intermittent water outages.

Customers located in the affected areas are advised to prepare by taking the following steps:

• Store enough water to meet your needs.
• Notify family, friends, tenants, and neighbors.
• Ensure water heaters do not empty.
• Avoid using appliances that require water during the test shutdown.

For more information, contact the Department of Water at 808-245-5455 or email publicrelations@kauaiwater.org.
