Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters are responding to a brush fire in Kōloa. The fire was reported at 2:15 p.m., and is estimated to be 100 feet by 50 feet.
No injuries or damaged structures have been reported at this time.
Response
According to a preliminary report, crews have the fire under control. Firefighters will continue to remain on scene until it is deemed safe to stand down. Heavy smoke continues as it is a deep seated green waste pile on fire.
Assets
Crews with the Kōloa and Kalaheo fire stations, Tender 5, Tender 3, the on-duty Battalion Chief, and crews with the Department of Public Works are responding to this incident.
The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency is monitoring the incident.
