Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters are responding to a brush fire in Wainiha up mauka, along Kūhiō Highway, near mile-marker 5.
At this time, there are no immediate threats to homes.
Assets
Crews with the Hanalei Fire Station are on scene. Because the fire is up mauka, it is currently inaccessible. KFD personnel is monitoring the fire.
The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency is monitoring the incident.
Road closures
At this time, Kūhiō Highway near mile-marker 5 by Lumaha‘i Beach is closed under further notice.
