WAILUA – The Department of Public Works and its contractor, The Cutting-Edge, are announcing emergency road closures along a portion of Kalama Road in Wailua on September 4 and 5, weather permitting.
The closure is necessary for emergency tree removal work. Because of the nature of the work and to protect workers and the public, specialized equipment is required and must be staged on the roadway.
Emergency road closures may begin at noon on Friday, Sept. 4, and at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5.
Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. County officials and The Cutting-Edge thank the community for their continued patience as these hazardous trees are addressed in advance of Hurricane Lowell.
