ʻŌMAʻO – A 69-year-old man suffered fatal injuries following a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon.
On October 10, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., a 2010 Toyota SUV was making a left turn onto Kaumuali‘i Highway from ʻŌma‘o Road when it was struck by a 2015 Honda motorcycle traveling eastbound on the highway.
The motorcyclist, a 69-year-old man from Puhi, sustained fatal injuries. He was transported to Wilcox Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The operator of the Toyota SUV, a 64-year-old woman from ʻŌma‘o, did not report any injuries.
Kaumuali‘i Highway was closed in both directions for approximately 2.5 hours while the Kaua‘i Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section conducted an on-scene investigation.
