KALĀHEO – Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters extinguished a structure fire in Kalaheo Thursday, May 28.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on Papalina Road in Kalāheo on Thursday shortly after 6:20 p.m.
Personnel with the Kalāheo Fire Station responded to the incident.
According to a preliminary report, upon arrival shortly before 6:25 p.m., firefighters discovered a small single story storage structure in flames. First responders discovered the room of origin was completely walled in and the only entrance was covered by plywood. Firefighters forced entry and successfully extinguished the fire.
Firefighters cleared the scene shortly after 6:45 p.m.
Damages to the structure and contents are estimated at $5,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
