High Wind Warning issued for Kaua‘i

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Kauaʻi through 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16. The warning may be extended, dropped, or modified as conditions develop.
A High Wind Warning means sustained, strong winds with even stronger gusts are happening or imminent.
According to the NWS, southwest winds 25 to 30 mph with localized gusts to 60 mph are expected for portions of interior and windward Kauaʻi.
Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines and damage roofs. Power outages are possible. Hazardous driving conditions due to powerful cross winds pose a serious risk for drivers, especially for lightweight and high-profile vehicles. Loose outdoor items should be brought inside or secured properly.
