Housing Agency accepting Homeless Program Grant applications

LĪHU‘E – The Housing Agency now requesting proposals for Homeless Program grants. The RFP can be found on the County’s Homeless Support webpage.

Applications must be received by January 30 by 4:30 p.m. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered. Applications must be submitted as a pdf via email to homelessprogramgrants@kauai.gov. Applications will not be accepted by mail or fax.

Applicants will be notified of funding during the week of February 15. The project funding period will be March 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027.

The purpose of this grant program is to provide critical services to those who are currently experiencing homelessness. The principal guiding framework of the request is taken from the draft Five Year Homeless Strategic Plan completed November 2025. Priority will be given to proposals that provide the greatest impact while demonstrating fiscal soundness and stability.

The Housing Agency will be hosting informational webinars on January 5 and January 12 at 10 a.m. The webinars will provide an overview of the Request for Proposals and the application selection criteria. There will also be an open question and answer period via email. Questions will be accepted until January 15. Responses will be posted in the Request for Proposals online.
