KALALAU — First responders rescued an injured 32-year-old visitor from Kalalau Beach on Friday, May 23.
According to a preliminary report, Kaua‘i Fire Department personnel received a report of an injured hiker on the Kalalau Trail shortly before 9:15 a.m.
Rescue 3 aboard Air 1, Hanalei Fire Station firefighters, and personnel with American Medical Response responded to the incident.
Upon arrival, firefighters located the visitor with an apparent leg injury. Rescuers loaded the visitor into Air 1 and transported him to Princeville Airport, where Engine 1 and Truck 1 assisted with transferring care to AMR medics.
The scene was cleared at approximately 11:35 a.m.
