The Kaua‘i Fire Department has contained an estimated 5-acre brush fire in Keālia near Keālia Kai early Saturday morning, June 7. Crews will continue to do periodic checks of the area.
Response
Firefighters were on scene, June 6, and personnel from Kaiakea Fire Station was on fire watch overnight.
There were no threats to nearby structures, nor have any injuries been reported.
According to a preliminary report, the fire was reported shortly before 3:25 p.m. today, June 6.
Assets
Crews with the Kaiakea and Kapa‘a fire stations, Rescue 3, Tanker 3, Truck 2, Truck 8, Engine 8, Air 1, Air 2, the on-duty Battalion Chief, and the Kaua‘i Police Department responded. Crews with the Department of Public Works were on standby.
The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency and the Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative also monitored the incident.

There were no road closures.
