WAILUA – The Kaua‘i Police Department (KPD) is investigating a rise in vehicle break-ins in the Wailua area.
Many of these incidents involve unlocked vehicles or valuables left in plain sight. Common targets include electronics, wallets, purses, and other items that are easily visible.
To help prevent these crimes, KPD encourages the public to take the following precautions:
KPD also encourages residents to register their external home security cameras through the City Protect program. This voluntary initiative assists officers in identifying nearby cameras and helps expedite investigations while maintaining residents' privacy, as registration does not provide direct access to any camera systems. Register your camera at: https://cityprotect.com/agency/kauaipolicedepartment.
Anyone who may have information about these break-ins is urged to contact KPD at (808) 241-1711. Those who wish to remain anonymous can reach out to Crime Stoppers Kaua‘i at (808) 246-8300, submit a tip at crimestopperskauai.org, or use the P3 Tips Mobile App, available for Apple and Android devices.
