LĪHUʻE – The County of Kauaʻi Transportation Agency will be accepting applications from Kauaʻi-based nonprofit organizations for its Kauaʻi Bus Pass Outreach Program from August 3 to August 18.
To be eligible, applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Additionally, applications must be submitted via the Kauaʻi County Connect online system, connect.kauai.gov, by clicking on the Kauaʻi Bus icon, then on the Kauaʻi Bus Pass Outreach Program Application icon.
The intent of the Kauaʻi Bus Pass Outreach Program is to provide assistance with bus passes to low-income households and individuals with transportation needs through eligible nonprofit organizations.
“The outreach program helps uplift the many organizations doing impactful work across Kauaʻi,” said Transportation Agency Executive Celia Mahikoa. “By sharing their message through our transit system, we hope to connect more residents with resources, services, and opportunities that strengthen our community.”
Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on August 18 to be considered for the 2026 outreach cycle.
All applications will be reviewed and scored by a selection panel. Scoring will be based on the applicant’s program information, including what service the applicant provides to the community and how many community members would benefit from the Kauaʻi Bus Pass Outreach Program.
