Kaua‘i police apprehend wanted fugitive in coordinated operation

LĪHUʻE – Kaua‘i police have successfully apprehended wanted fugitive Isaiah Pongasi-Adric, following an ongoing investigation.
On Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers conducted a planned operation to apprehend Isaiah Pongasi-Adric, a 26-year-old man of Anahola. Pongasi-Adric was arrested on multiple warrants, including a $50,000 probation revocation and several offenses of Resisting an Order to Stop a Motor Vehicle and Driving Without a Valid License. Pongasi-Adric remains in custody with bail set at $80,000.
Elvin Adric, a 49-year-old man of Anahola, was also arrested for Hindering Prosecution in the 2nd Degree for allegedly assisting Pongasi-Adric in evading arrest. Adric was Released on Recognizance, meaning he was granted release from custody based on his written promise to appear at all scheduled court proceedings.
“We appreciate the community’s vigilance and commend our officers for bringing this case to a peaceful resolution,” said Assistant Chief Kalani Ke. “This outcome reflects the strong collaboration between KPD and the community in keeping Kaua‘i safe. It also sends a strong message to anyone who may consider assisting those trying to evade justice.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
