Līhuʻe Civic Center in-person services remain closed

LĪHUʻE – In-person County of Kauaʻi services at the Līhuʻe Civic Center remain closed while information technology systems are restored following the Sept. 9 Kāpule Building fire. Some offices may reopen sooner than others, depending on when their computer systems are restored. The County will share updates as in-person services resume.
The only exception is the Department of Finance's Real Property Division, which is offering in-person assistance at the Purchasing Office, across from the Kāpule Building, at the Līhuʻe Civic Center to help property owners meet the Sept. 30 filing deadline. The Purchasing Office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
As a friendly reminder, Sept. 30 is the deadline to file for all exemptions, such as the home exemption, any new income exemptions, and the Long-Term Affordable Rental Program. The exception is the Disaster Relief Claim Form, which is due June 30. Existing income exemptions will be rolled over, and those residents do not need to reapply. Property owners who already submitted an application and have not received an emailed confirmation that it was submitted are encouraged to resubmit because paperwork was destroyed in the fire.
