KAPA‘A - The Department of Public Works and Earthworks Pacific is announcing that portions of Olohena Road will be closed from Nov. 14, 2023, to April 14, 2024, on weekdays, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.
The single-lane closures in each direction with alternating traffic throughout Olohena Road will be performed and are necessary for road widening and bridge work. Bridge work will take place between Kamalu Road and Waipouli Rd.
Motorists are urged to use alternate routes and to expect brief and occasional delays. No road work will occur during the peak traffic times for school drop-off and pick-up.
Please exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area, which is narrow and near the homes of residents. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of Olohena Road.
