LĪHU‘E – The Department of Public Works and its contractor Maui Kupono Builders are announcing that portions of Hulemalu Road in Līhu‘e will be closed for road repaving work on Friday, June 9, and Tuesday, June 13, weather permitting.
One-lane closures on portions of Hulemalu Road, between Haiku Road and Niumalu Road, will occur on both days from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The remaining open lane will accommodate alternating traffic in both directions, with flaggers directing traffic. No work will occur on Monday, June 12, in observance of the Kamehameha Day holiday.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, anticipate delays, allow extra travel time through the work area, and follow all traffic control and signs. No parking will be allowed in the work zones during the closure. Access to properties will be provided.
The Department of Public Works thanks the public for their patience while crews work to improve the roads in the community.
