Sept. 11 UPDATE: One-lane closures scheduled for Papalina Road Sept. 11 and Sept. 12

The Department of Public Works and its contractor Cushnie Construction Company, Inc. are announcing one-lane alternating traffic today, Sept. 11, and tomorrow, Sept. 12, along a portion of Papalina Road in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.

KALĀHEO – The Department of Public Works and its contractor Cushnie Construction Company, Inc. are announcing lane shifts along a portion of Papalina Road in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway September 8 to 12, from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.

The lane shifts are necessary for the public’s safety and to allow Cushnie Construction Company, Inc. to complete pipe replacement and road repairs within the County right of way. A detour route will be set up for motorists wishing to turn eastbound onto Kaumuali‘i Highway via Puu Road and Hokua Street.

Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary traffic modifications, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
