Niumalu Bridge reopened with 10-ton weight limit

NĀWILIWILI – The Department of Public Works, and its contractor Kaiwa Construction, announce that Niumalu Bridge in Nāwiliwili has reopened to the public on Monday, April 20, following the completion of construction work.

This temporary bridge is constructed on the makai side of the existing bridge, as a bypass to allow for construction of the replacement permanent bridge. Construction of the permanent bridge is projected to start in 2027.

The temporary bridge carries a 10-ton load limit. Motorists are reminded to observe all posted signage and load restrictions to ensure the safety and longevity of the structure.
