Kauai Emergency Management Agency News Release

LĪHU‘E – The County will begin collecting preliminary assessments of affected areas across the island, starting today, March 16.

If you suffered damages as a result of the March 2026 storms, please visit kauai.gov/KEMA. Emergency response staff is currently collecting information on any damage to residences, businesses, agricultural and ranch operations, and roadways.

The deadline to submit information is Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

The information you provide will help the County of Kaua‘i understand the scope of damages and impacts to our community. Damage reports may be used to determine whether our jurisdiction qualifies for any state or federal assistance.

Affected parties will still need to file claims with their insurance companies for residential damage and personal property losses. Completion of a damage report does not constitute an application for assistance or relief programs; however, KEMA may share your information with nonprofit partners if assistance becomes available.

For assistance with the form, please call Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency at 808-241-1800 or email KEMA@kauai.gov.

If you require an auxiliary aid or service, an interpreter for non-English speakers, or another accommodation due to a disability, please contact KEMA at 808-241-1800 or email KEMA@kauai.gov as soon as possible. Early requests are encouraged to ensure adequate time to meet your needs. Upon request, this notice is available in alternate formats, including large print, Braille, or electronic copy.
