Planning Department News Release

LĪHUʻE – The public is invited to the Play Streets Bicycle Playground, a family-focused event, on Sunday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Līhuʻe Civic Center parking lot near the Kapule Building.

The event will feature a child-sized roadway for practicing bicycle skills, a learn-to-ride station, and a bicycle skills course. Bicycles and helmets will be provided, or participants may bring their own.

The miniature roadway includes intersections, a roundabout, signs, and street markings, giving keiki a safe place to practice riding through a real road system. These skills help keep them safer on the streets in their own neighborhoods.

All activities are no-cost and open to the public.
