Public meeting for Kukui Street and Olohena Road Improvements June 23

KAPAʻA – The County of Kauaʻi Department of Public Works invites the community to participate in a public meeting regarding the Kukui Street and Olohena Road Improvements Project located in the Kapaʻa District. This meeting will take place on June 23, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex pavilion.

The purpose of the Kukui Street and Olohena Road Improvements Project is to improve traffic flow, pedestrian mobility, and stormwater infrastructure in Kapaʻa Town.

This project includes:

  • Mini-roundabout at the intersection of Kahau Road, Olohena Road, and Lehua Street
  • Pavement resurfacing
  • Roadway widening
  • Installation of sidewalks, crosswalks, and bike lanes
  • Stormwater infrastructure improvements

Public participation and feedback are highly encouraged in planning this project. The meeting agenda will include background and history of the project, a discussion of the conceptual design, and questions/comments from the public.
