Recycling continues to be available at Anaina Hou

LĪHUʻE – North Shore residents can drop off recyclables at Anaina Hou Community Park in Kīlauea on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The site accepts HI-5 and non-HI-5 materials and is located at 5-2723 Kūhiō Highway, behind Kauaʻi Mini Golf.

The County of Kauaʻi Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division has removed the Kaua‘i Recycles drop bins from the Hanalei Refuse Transfer Station to make room for a high influx of customers bringing storm debris from Hurricane Lowell. The change allows the site to handle increased drop-offs of mixed waste, metals, and appliances.

Recycling bins will return to Hanalei once hurricane response activity slows. The public will be notified when recycling resumes at the site.
