LĪHU‘E – The Department of Public Works and its contractor Maui Kupono Builders are announcing that a portion of Halehaka Road in Līhu‘e will be closed for road repaving work from Monday, June 5, through Thursday, June 8, weather permitting.

Halehaka Road will be fully closed, between Hulemalu Road and the Akoki Street/Kalae Street intersection, during work hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The road will be open to local traffic only for residents accessing their properties within the closure. Flaggers will be positioned at the start of the road closure to best direct residents to their properties.

All other traffic will be detoured through Hulemalu Road and Puhi Road.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, anticipate delays, allow extra travel time around the area, and follow all traffic control and signs. No parking will be allowed in the work zones during the closure.

The Department of Public Works thanks the public and residents for their patience while crews work to improve the roads in the community.
