The Kaua‘i Fire Department is responding to reports of brush fire in Kaumakani on Kaumuali'i Highway near Kaumakani Village. Kaumuali'i Highway is closed in both directions for firefighting operations.
According to preliminary reports, there are no reports of damage to nearby structures and no reports of injuries at this time.
The fire was reported on September 11, shortly after 11:40 a.m.

According to a preliminary report, firefighters are currently on scene and the fire has been contained.

Personnel with the Hanapēpē, Kalāheo, and Waimea fire stations, private landowners, and the Kauaʻi Police Department are responding to the incident.
The Kauaʻi Emergency Management Agency and responding partners are responding to this incident.
