--Officials advise no swimming, ocean activities at Kekaha Beach due to shark sighting--
KEKAHA – Kaua‘i Ocean Safety Bureau officials are advising no swimming or other ocean activities at Kekaha Beach until further notice due to a shark sighting.
OSB officials report that a tiger shark, approximately 10 feet, was sighted in waters off Kekaha Beach, in the surf break known as Intersections, feeding near the shoreline on Friday afternoon. No injuries were reported.
As a safety precaution, OSB officials have posted warning signs and will continue to monitor the area.
Lifeguards will reassess the area on Saturday afternoon. Updates will be provided if more information becomes available.
