Temporary road closures scheduled in the Waimea area Jan. 6 to Jan. 17

WAIMEA – The Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Division is advising motorists of upcoming work in the Waimea area from Monday, Jan. 6, to Friday, Jan. 10, and Monday, Jan. 13, to Friday, Jan. 17, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
Intermittent lane closures are necessary to allow the Wastewater Management Division’s contractor, Underground Services, inc., to inspect the wastewater system.
The following roads will be affected:
- Waimea Canyon Drive
- Makeke Road
- Menehune Road
- Ala Wai Road
- Maile Road
- Ape Place
- Panako Road
- Kahakai Road
During these times, small portions of these roadways will be closed for access to sewer maintenance manholes. One lane will be used to accommodate alternating traffic in both directions. Access to properties will be provided. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
The public is advised to make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary lane closure and allow extra time to get to destinations.
