Two Minors Detained in Connection with Burglaries and Vehicle Thefts

LĪHUʻE – Two minors were detained last Thursday in connection with a stolen vehicle and are suspected of involvement in other recent crimes across the island.

On Thursday, Mar. 27, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers were dispatched for a report of a stolen vehicle in Līhu‘e. Officers immediately initiated a search of the surrounding area, located the vehicle, and observed two minors inside—one operating the vehicle and the other in the passenger seat. Upon approaching the vehicle, one of the minors attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. Both individuals were detained.

In accordance with juvenile privacy laws, the identities of the minors will not be disclosed.

Further investigation indicates that both minors may be connected to additional burglaries and vehicle thefts. The investigation remains ongoing.
