KĪLAUEA – A visitor died Wednesday afternoon after being pulled from waters off Moloa‘a Beach.
On May 13, 2026, at approximately 1:45 p.m., first responders were dispatched to Moloa‘a Beach following reports of a swimmer in distress. Bystanders brought the swimmer to shore and began performing CPR. Medics continued lifesaving efforts and transported the individual to Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as a 30-year-old man from Oklahoma.
An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.
The Kaua‘i Police Department extends its condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
