Dec. 11 UPDATE: Work to continue through Jan. 24

WAILUA – The Department of Parks and Recreation (DOPR) is announcing that the tennis and basketball courts at Wailua Homesteads Park will be closed through Jan. 24, 2025, weather permitting.

The closure is necessary for playcourt resurfacing work, the addition of pickleball courts, and other upgrades.

WAILUA – The Department of Parks and Recreation (DOPR) is announcing that the tennis and basketball courts at Wailua Homesteads Park will be closed from Sept. 3 to December 2024, weather permitting.

The closure is necessary for playcourt resurfacing work, the addition of pickleball courts, and other upgrades.

The general contractor for the project is Pacific Concrete Cutting & Coring, Inc.

This closure is part of the County’s $3.1 million Playcourt Resurfacing Project, including Wailua Houselots Park, the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex, and Puhi Park. Updates on the construction and closures of these facilities’ play courts will be announced in future news releases.
