Water service shutdown on a portion of Papalina Road on March 8

KALAHEO - The Department of Water (DOW) announces a water service shutdown scheduled on a portion of Papalina Road, from the Waha Road intersection to the south-end of Papalina Road (in the direction of the headquarters of the National Tropical Botanical Garden).  Water service will be shut off on Friday, Mar. 8 from approximately 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., weather permitting, while DOW conducts emergency work on a pressure release valve in the area. 

To prepare for the service shutdown, customers are advised to take the following steps: 

  • Store water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
  • Notify neighbors, family and friends about the water service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heater does not empty during the shutdown.
