Work extended for Kaumumene Trail through Sept. 18

PRINCEVILLE – The County of Kauaʻi Department of Public Works announces that the temporary closure of Kaumumene Trail, also known as Hideaways Trail, has been extended due to inclement weather through Sept. 18, weather permitting. 

During this time, the trail will be closed to all public access to allow crews to safely complete the necessary repair work.

The public is asked to observe all posted closure signage and to avoid the trail during the closure period for the safety of trail users and work crews.

The Department of Public Works appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as these improvements are completed.
