Criminal Investigations Division

Overview

The Criminal Investigations Division, formerly Investigative Services Bureau, consists of three separate sections having both similar and distinctly different law enforcement responsibilities. They follows up on investigations that are referred by the Field Operations Division, and initiates their own investigations when appropriate with a focus on felonious crimes.

Persons Crimes  Section: They investigate all types of crimes against persons, whether juvenile or adult, ranging from Petty Misdemeanors to Class A Felonies to include, but not limited to, domestic violence and missing persons. The section is further divided into four (4) separate units; Major Crimes, Sex Crimes, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) and our Sex Assault Forensic Nurses.

Property Crimes Section: They investigate all types of crimes against property, ranging from Petty Misdemeanors to Class A Felonies. The section is further divided into two (2) separate units; Property Crimes and  White Collar Crimes.

Vice Section initiates and/or follows up on all drug related investigations. This includes drug trafficking interdiction, marijuana eradication, and covert operations.

This section also investigates organized crime, gambling, money laundering, racketeering, and prostitution.
