Provide your name, telephone number, mailing address and a description of where you are requesting the streetlight. It would be helpful to us if you could provide the pole number where you want the light.

Call the KIUC Power Plant at 808-246-8200.

Addresses are assigned only to a dwelling/building and not to an empty lot during the Building Permit Electronic Plan Review process, based on the submitted site plan for the dwelling or other building. For large lots, a new address will only be assigned AFTER the Planning Department and the State Department of Health, if applicable, approve their reviews.

Then, How do I request an address for an existing dwelling/building?

To request an address for an existing dwelling/building which has never been assigned a proper address, please go to Connect.kauai.gov and create and account by clicking on the Sign Up Link.

TO SUBMIT APPLICATION:
1. At Connect.kauai.gov login using your account. Use the Sign Up link if you don't have one.
2. Type in the Search Box to find the form (for example type: ADDRESS VERIFICATION), or click on the "Public Works \ Engineering" Icon.
3. Select the "Address Verification/Request for Existing Building" Icon.

• Follow the system prompts and tab through the application process.
• Upload all the necessary documents

Once the application is submitted, it will be reviewed by Public Works Engineering Division Staff. You will receive an automated email as to the status of your application.

While the application is being reviewed, you can view its progress at any time by logging back into Connect.kauai.gov.

A Traffic Calming Request can be submitted to the Department of Public Works Engineering Division. Please refer to the Traffic Calming page (link to be added soon) for more details.

Per County Code § 15-2, a Driveway Approach is an area, construction or facility between the pavement of a street and any abutting property which is used by motor vehicles for purposes of ingress and egress. Before constructing any driveway approach, a Driveway Approach Permit is required. The bridge does not require a building permit since the County does not regulate bridges under its building code. The bridge designer, either an architect or structural engineer, is responsible for certifying that the bridge meets structural requiremenets. For reference, see Hawai‘i Revised Statutes and Hawai‘i Administrative Rules Title 16 Chapter 15 for laws pertaining to engineering for structures in the State of Hawai‘i.

The bridge will require a Zoning Permit through the Planning Department. Through the Zoning permit approval process the following Agencies may review the project and depending on the work may require a permit:

• Army Corp of Engineers - Work in US waters
• State Department of Health - Water Pollution Control
• Fire Department - Review for access
• Planning Department - Zoning and Use
• Department of Public Works, Engineering Division - Grading Permit and Work in a Floodplain or Flood Fringe
• State Historic Preservation Division - Historic Preservation

1. We will review the question and identify whether the roads are acceptable for being dedicated to the County. Typically, that means that the roads would need to be paved and meet other County Standards. Please see the County of Kauai Street Design Manual(PDF, 2MB) for more information.
2. Planning Department and the Office of the County Attroney will work with the existing owner to prepare a dedication deed.
3. The dedication deed will go to Council for their approval..
