KPD ask for public’s help locating 16-year-old runaway

Apr. 19 UPDATE: Bermoy returned to his family safely Thursday night, Apr. 18. No injuries were reported. KPD would like to thank the community for their support during the search.

LĪHUʻE – The Kaua‘i Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a runaway juvenile.

Akoni Bermoy, a 16-year-old resident of Puhi, was reported missing on Apr. 12, 2024. He was last seen in the Hanapēpē area.

Bermoy is 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He has a tan complexion, wavy brown hair and is of Filipino decent. 

He is known to frequent the Līhu‘e and Puhi areas.

Anyone with information about Bermoy’s whereabouts is urged to contact KPD Dispatch at 808-241-1711. Those wishing to remain anonymous can provide information by calling Crime Stoppers Kaua‘i at 808-246-8300, submitting a tip at cskauai.org, or through the Crime Stoppers Kaua‘i P3 Tips Mobile App.
