Life’s Choices Accepting Proposals for Community Program Grants

LĪHU‘E – Today Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Like announced that the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Life’s Choices program is accepting proposals for Adult and Adolescent Mental Health and Substance Abuse Community Program Grants for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 starting today.

Applications will only be accepted through the Amplifund Grants contract management system. To apply, visit:

All applications must be submitted through the Amplifund system on or before 4:00 PM on Friday, September 29, 2023. Applications are not being accepted through the mail, email, fax, or in person. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.

Applications will be notified of funding during the week of October 16, 2023. Project funding will be November 1, 2023, through October 31, 2024. Eligible proposals include community programs that provide clinical mental health and/or substance abuse treatment and services. Eligible programs will expand and improve accessibility to clinical treatment services for adolescents and/or adults, provide certified substance abuse counseling.

Notification of OPA’s approval and recommendation for funding will be made the week of October 16, 2023. Prosecutor Like said, “We are grateful for the opportunity to offer grants to community programs that address mental health and substance abuse problems on Kaua‘i. We are excited to be a part of a longer-term solution to substance use disorder in our community.”

There is a total of $1,000,000 in grant funding available.
