Police search for driver involved in Kōloa hit-and-run

KŌLOA – Kaua‘i police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run which left a 72-year-old woman with serious injuries.

On Apr. 15 at approximately 6:30 a.m., a 72-year-old woman of Kōloa was walking eastbound on Wailaau Road when she was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene prior to the arrival of first responders. Witnesses described the vehicle as a dark colored full-size pickup truck.

The 72-year-old woman was medevaced to the Queens Medical Center, where she remains in serious condition.

The investigation remains ongoing. KPD strongly encourages anyone who may have information about this incident to do the right thing and come forward.
